How much will editing and proofreading cost?

This will depend on the length of the document, the type of edit required and possibly the deadline. Some projects (under 2000 words) cost £35.

How long will it take to edit a document?

A very short document will require little editing and may be completed in an hour or two. Depending on the type of edit and the length, editing and proofreading could take several days. Please let us know the closing date for submission, as we can often work to close deadlines.

Documents include reports, brochures, books, training manuals, journal articles, advertisements, presentations and press releases.

What if my material is confidential?

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all confidential material that is submitted to us. If you need further information and reassurance on confidentiality, we can let you have an agreement signed by our editor.

How will I review the edits/changes to my work?

We use Track Changes in Microsoft Word. These allow you to preview changes made to your work, and are used to mark (in a specific colour) revisions that are made to a document. An editor will insert revisions and suggestions, and you can use the Track Changes feature to locate these revisions. In this way, you can accept or reject individual changes and have control of the document.

In PDF files we use the annotation tool in Adobe Acrobat. Here we correct grammatical, spelling and formatting errors and create a fresh text annotation for each comment.

Material can also be sent in the form of hard copy. We mark the edits by hand and fax/post the corrections to you.

What about payment?

It is necessary to discuss payment before the work is undertaken. Payment is made by cheque or bank transfer 14 days after the completion of the work.
